Teaching Staff
The teaching staff of Small World Early Learning and Development Centers are child care professionals who either hold degrees in education or child care curricula or have gained many years of work experience in the child care field.
We are very proud that more than half of our staff members have been with us for more than 3 years. Many of them have celebrated their 10th anniversary.
Security
The Small World Centers have state-of-the-art video camera security systems that monitor and record all the child care areas from the moment we are open until the centers close, providing an extra measure of security for the children.

Due to security reasons, only parents or persons designated by parents, staff members, and persons with scheduled appointments are permitted in the centers.

NAEYC Accreditation

Small World is fully accredited with The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC administers the largest and most widely recognized national, voluntary, professionally sponsored accreditation system for all types of early childhood schools and child care centers. NAEYC is the nation's largest organization of early childhood educators.
What Is NAEYC Accreditation?
Early Childhood programs accredited by NAEYC's National Academy of Early Childhood Programs have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study, invited external professional review to verify compliance with the Criteria for High-Quality Early Childhood Programs, and have been found to be in substantial compliance with the Criteria. A copy of the Criteria can be obtained from the NAEYC.
What Is a High-Quality Early Childhood Program According to the NAEYC?
A high-quality early childhood program provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.
In accredited programs, you should see:
- Frequent, positive, warm interactions among teachers and children
- Planned learning activities appropriate to children's age and development, such as block building, painting, reading stories, dress-up, and active outdoor play
- Specially trained teachers and directors
- Ongoing professional development
- Enough adults to respond to individual children
- Many varied, age-appropriate materials
- Respect for cultural diversity
- A healthy and safe environment for adults and children
- Inclusive environments
- Nutritious meals and/or snacks
- Regular, two-way communication with parents who are welcome at all times
- Effective administration
- Ongoing, systematic evaluation
Accreditation lasts for 3 years.
