Early Head Start programs are free, federally funded programs designed to promote school readiness for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from families that meet income eligibility requirements.
Early Head Start programs provide similar services as preschool Head Start programs, but they are tailored for the unique needs of infants and toddlers.
How Early Head Start Can Help Your Child
Early Head Start programs are federally funded with the goal of promoting the following categories in infants and toddlers:
- physical development
- cognitive development
- social development
- emotional development
These areas of your child's life are enriched through safe and devoted caregiving and this program aims to prepare your children for continued growth and development to give them a head start in school and life for a better chance at success in the future.
Early Head Start programs also mobilize the local community to provide the resources and environment necessary to ensure a comprehensive, integrated array of services and support for children and families.
Early Head Start Also Offers Free Childcare Resources
The Early Head Start program provides resources to families such as free diapers, wipes and formula while the children are in childcare.
